Steven Gerrard signs up another Liverpool staff member as Al-Ettifaq confirm latest appointment
Al-Ettifaq have confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Robinson as the club's new performance analyst only hours after he announced his departure from Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard was appointed Al-Ettifaq manager in July and took with him a backroom staff that included ex-Reds youth striker Ian Foster, under-18s fitness coach Jordan Milsom and under-18s assistant manager Tom Culshaw. Joining them later was Ray Shearwood, who left his analyst post at Liverpool after an approach from the legendary former midfielder.
Though the most notable additions to Ettifaq's ranks this summer were playing staff. Jordan Henderson was announced as the first landmark signing of the summer, controversially calling time on his 12-year Liverpool career and in process handing in the captaincy to make the £12m switch at 33 years old.
Sadio Manehad been suggested as a potential signing, though eventually opted to join Al Nassr instead, and in the end a reunion came in the form of Georgino Wijnaldum signing from Paris Saint-Germain.
Now in his latest move, Gerrard revisited familiar surroundings to find his current team a performance analyst in the form of 31-year-old Robinson, who had been part of the Reds' backroom staff since 2014.
