Manchester City still stand a higher chance than Arsenal to lift the Premier League title, according to a supercomputer.
Arsenal played out a dull 0-0 draw at City on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool moved top of the table with a 2-1 comeback over Brighton & Hove Albion earlier the same day. There are now nine games to go in the season as the Gunners continue chasing the Premier League crown.
Both teams cancelled each other out and Mikel Arteta's side were praised for their defensive display, limiting Erling Haaland to few opportunities. William Saliba earned the man of the match award and Gabriel Magalhaes was also solid in defence.
After the draw, there has been no change in Arsenal's chances to lift the title. Arteta's team remain with an 18.8% chance according to statistical data specialists Opta. However, City's title chances are higher than the Gunners despite the percentage dropping after the stalemate.
Their chances dropped by 12.4%, from 45.9% to 33.5% — the lowest they have been all season. The draw was City's second in a row and their third in their last six league games.
The 12.4% chance is the exact amount by which Liverpool's increased, meaning they are now given a 47.7% chance to secure silverware for the first time since the 2019/20 season.
Speaking after the draw, Arteta said: «A really competitive match as you can imagine. We made another big step today. They have the capacity to change formations to get you in deep in many moments.
