Sven-Goran Eriksson will take charge of the Liverpool Legends team that will face Ajax in a charity match for the LFC Foundation next month.
Eriksson, who revealed last month that he is suffering with terminal cancer, will join a host of ex-Liverpool stars for the annual event at Anfield on March 23 as the likes of Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio and 2005 Champions League winners Djibril Cisse and Jerzy Dudek meet a host of star-studded names connected to the Dutch giants.
The call for Eriksson to take charge of the Reds side has gathered momentum in recent weeks after the former England boss expressed a regret at having never coached Liverpool across a decorated career that spanned over 40 years.

"My father is still alive and is still a Liverpool supporter, and I'm a Liverpool supporter as well, I've always been," Eriksson told Sky News. "So I always wished to be the manager of Liverpool, and that will not happen for sure, but I'm still a Liverpool fan."
Jurgen Klopp recently invited the Swede down to Liverpool's AXA Training Centre to see the Premier League leaders train and spend the day at the club's Kirkby base and it's now been confirmed that Eriksson will be the manager of the Legends' team at Anfield during next month's international break.
LFC Foundation’s two previous Legends' matches with Manchester United and Celtic raised £1.45 million with the funds being used to help the Liverpool City Region and further afield and the charity fixture with Barcelona at Anfield two years ago also brought in £1m.
