"The day Vinicius stops this, we'll have fewer card problems"

Carlo Ancelotti assured that Vinicius "is the best" and, after his defence of the Brazilian on the eve of the match against Celta, following the yellow card the player received again for pushing an opponent, acknowledged that the day he stops such reactions, his team will have fewer card problems.

"What we talked about with him stays between us. It's an issue that we have talked about and we will continue to talk about because it's not just Vini's problem, it's that in recent times we have received too many cards, some of them unfair, and it affects the team. We have not been able to count on Bellingham and it penalises us. We have to improve in this area," he told the press conference.

When Ancelotti was asked a second time about the Brazilian's reaction, who responded to Mingueza's grab with a shove that earned him a booking, the Italian coach was sympathetic to the "frustration" his player may feel. 

"What I thought was that the shirt was not torn," the Italian boss said of the action. "I think it was a very ugly move, holding a player like that. Obviously the referee's decision was correct, with a yellow, and also to Vinicius. The day he stops this, we will have less card problems. It's a bit of frustration, it's quite normal," he defended.

After the match, the Italian was seen talking to the Brazilian in his ear. "I told him that he is the best, because he is the best of all. He tries, he scored the first goal and I told him, you are the best and that's all.
