Joe Cole, the former Chelsea and West Ham United midfielder, couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Tottenham Hotspur while chatting with Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle.
Cole, who was on punditry duty alongside Hoddle on TNT Sport on Tuesday night, was at the London Stadium for West Ham's home match against Ange Postecoglou's team.
After the game, Hoddle mentioned how West Ham always seemed to step up their performance when he played against them during his time at Spurs. This comment gave Cole the perfect chance to tease his old rivals, reports the Daily Star.
«West Ham always do so well against Tottenham Hotspur,» Hoddle noted. «They raise their game. Joe, you've been in that dressing room.
»I don't know what it is. Over the years, when I played, in your era, and now, I think it's the fanbase."
With a cheeky grin, Cole responded: «I think West Ham may have also felt like also-rans when Tottenham, even though they haven't won much silverware. [Spurs] They act and behave like a team...sorry about this Glenn, by the way.»

Hoddle didn't seem too upset by Cole's jibe. After all, he's one of the few people who has actually won a trophy (the FA Cup in 1981) with the club.
He laughed and said: «That's alright, because I was there when we did win things.»
Cole didn't hold back when talking about Spurs. He said: «Yeah, Glen's team won, but they ain't won much. West Ham probably think 'Why do you consider yourselves a big team?'
»You have that sort of 'David vs Goliath' and you think to yourself, 'Let's go and stuff them, because, they're not a big club'.
