According to Fabrizio Romano, Thilo Kehrer (27) has completed his medical ahead of a loan move to Monaco from West Ham United. The German international is set to join Lés Monégasques on a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. The purchase option within the deal is valued at €10m.
The 27-year-old had several clubs from Ligue 1 interested in his services in the January transfer window including Nice and Rennes. However, it is the principality club who have won the race for his signature. Following the completion of his medical, Kehrer is expected to be announced as the latest arrival at the Stade Louis II imminently.
Kehrer’s loan move to Monaco won’t be his first time playing in Ligue 1. The West Ham defender has experience playing in the top flight of French football following a 4-year spell with PSG. The versatile defender played 128 times for Les Parisiens during his time in the French capital. He also won 3 Ligue 1 titles during his time at the club.
