Kieran Tierney is on loan at La Liga side Real Sociedad from Arsenal and has given an interview to TALKSPORTS, in which he says he is unsure about his future and his return to the Emirates Stadium outfit after his loan spell, which ends at the end of the season.
"It's probably quite rare that it happens when you come back from a loan. Of course you've got circumstances like Saliba when they just come back and I don't think he's been out the team since - he's not been on the bench since. But it's maybe a bit different for someone who has played four years already goes back (into the team)."
The Scotland defender lost his place in the Gunners' starting 11 after the emergence of Zinchenko last season and although he still has two years left on his contract with the club, he insisted his departure was the right decision for both parties.
"You genuinely never know, football is a mad place, so let's see what happens. But just the way things had developed at Arsenal, the way the team was going and what happened last season with game time. It probably worked out best for both parties that I got out, get a new experience - get some game time. And when you don't play, you do lose a bit of your confidence, so to go over here and get that back has been great."
Tierney has been watching the Premier League from afar and has seen the progress of an Arsenal side, who he says he is '100% confident' will lift the trophy. "I don’t know exactly the run-in for the three teams fighting for it, but I think they’re in a better position than last year and they’ve got more experience than last year."
