Tottenham join transfer race to sign £39m star amid Jota loan interest

Spurs have joined the race to sign Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo, according to The Evening Standard. It is claimed that the north Londoners are keen to recruit a defender ahead of the January transfer window, with Todibo one of their targets.

However, the France international has also attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool whilst Nice value the 23-year-old at around £39million.

Spurs attacker Brennan Johnson has opened up on his plans under head coach Ange Postecoglou, revealing that he is keen to improve his ability in the final third under the Australian's tutelage. «Spurs have such good plans for me, and it was the right decision to make this step,» the Wales international said in an interview in Tottenham's recent matchday programme.

«Being at Forest for that long, knowing so many people and having all my friends and family from there it was a hard decision to make. But it was the right time, especially coming to a club here that's so forward-thinking and has such a great team, manager and staff. I had seen them play already this season and was so impressed, it suited me at this point in my career and it’s pleasing they were able to get it done — I'm so happy.»
