Liverpool have suffered yet another injury blow with Trent Alexander-Arnold expected to be sidelined until the end of the month with a knee injury.
The 25-year-old sustained the issue during Sunday's 2-0 FA Cup third round at Arsenal to join a lengthy absentee list that will at least be relieved by the return of Virgil van Dijk after the the captain overcame the illness that saw him sidelined against the Gunners.
Alexander-Arnold will miss Wednesday's League Cup semi-final first leg against Fulham as well as the return a fortnight later, along with the Premier League visit to Bournemouth on Sunday week.

The right-back is also expected to sit out the FA Cup fourth round tie against either Norwich City or Bristol Rovers, with Liverpool hopeful Alexander-Arnold could return for the Premier League visit of Chelsea on January 31.
"Trent hyperextended his knee during the last game," said Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders. "So he has a little tear in the lateral ligament of his knee and he will need time to recover. He had a scan.
"He will get some rest and then hopefully he can come back to where he was, because this guy was decisive in all the games and was the one who created constantly for us from deep and gave the team a high level of flexibility. We will really miss him.
"He will be out for probably three weeks. It is a big blow, one of most important players, he is always decisive. Even in bad spells he took the balls to make the difference. Hopefully three weeks and a winter break (will help)."
