New footage has emerged of the spat between Noni Madueke and Nicholas Jackson's penalty fallout following the 6-0 Premier League win over Everton on Monday night.
The Blues enjoyed a thumping win at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Jackson, Alfie Gilchrist and an impressive four-goal return from former Manchester City forward Cole Palmer. But the win has been overshadowed after Madueke, Jackson and Palmer were all involved in an argument over who should take a Chelsea penalty in the 64th minute.
Madueke won the penalty and insisted on keeping the ball before protesting when club captain Conor Gallagher intervened and handed the ball to Palmer. The players actions drew heavy criticism from manager Mauricio Pochettino following the final whistle.
Fans and football pundits were equally unsparing in their criticism, with Jamie Carragher calling out the incident as «daft». Madueke, the former PSV player, responded to his critics on social media early Tuesday morning.
He shared a picture of the Chelsea team, huddled together before the Stamford Bridge clash, seemingly emphasizing squad unity. However, Madueke turned off the comments feature, likely anticipating how most of his followers would respond.
However, Sky Sports footage from Monday night that wasn't aired until after the match, is now viral on social media, reports the Express. It shows Madueke in an unflattering light.
