Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe this season, and has been rewarded for it by being nominated for an award in the German Bundesliga.
The Nigerian striker joined Bayer Leverkusen this summer from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for an undisclosed fee and has had an immediate impact on Xabi Alonso's team.
The 22-year-old striker has scored four goals in three appearances in the German Bundesliga this season and also added another goal in DFB Pokal.
According to Complete Sports, Boniface's performance for the Black and Reds earned him a nomination for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for August. The German Bundesliga confirmed the Nigerian striker as one of the nominees on their official page on X (formerly known as Twitter).

FootballThe striker, who was just recently invited to the Nigeria national team set up, will battle the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for August award with former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Simons, who now plays for RB Leipzig and Germany-born Nigerian goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, who plays for Freiburg.
Boniface will hope to win the award, but will hope the fans vote him ahead of others, as the winner would be decided by them on the Bundesliga website.
