A video game developer has moved to a spectacular new city centre office.
Avalanche Studios Group is a video game developer responsible for blockbuster video games such as Just Cause and Mad Max. Avalanche was established in 2003 in Stockholm, and now has offices all over the world.
It chose to open its first and so far only UK office at the Albert Dock in 2020. Now, the developer has moved into new offices in St Paul’s Square, off Old Hall Street in the city centre. Photos taken by the ECHO inside show incredible images from games made by the Avalanche team in Liverpool, including from open world fishing game Call of the Wild: The Angler and immersive hunting experience The Hunter: Call of the Wild.

The Angler was the first game the Liverpool office had to work on with a small team of five people. Paul Rustchynsky, the game director, told the ECHO previously: “When we started off in August 2020, there were five of us who kind of set up the initial studio. By the end of that year, we had 25 people working on the project.
“And then in less than 18 months, we'd launched it on four PC platforms and a year after that eight console platforms. So to go from nothing, not even a game concept to releasing the game and having it played by over a million players now, it's just been kind of a thrilling ride.”
Three years on, Avalanche has an expansive team, featuring software developers developing new titles, and quality assurance (QA) engineers who constantly test and fix bugs in Avalanche’s games, responding to feedback from players all over the world.”
