'Vindication' - Arsenal's in-form Kai Havertz leads the way in international break round-up
Arsenal's players have had a mixed start to the final international break of the Premier League season as preparations for the European Championships step up.
In total, 11 players are with their nations over the next few days as they look to make their cases for the major tournament in Germany this summer. The European Championship's host nation produced the result of the break so far as they beat France 2-0 in Lyon.
The Gunners' Kai Havertz bagged the second for his team in a move which Sports BILD described as vindication for the national team head coach Julien Nagelsmann who has persevered with the centre-forward in his team. Havertz's teammate William Saliba was an unused substitute for the French team who are one of the favourites to win the tournament.
Speaking of the Euros, it was good news for Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior who both started for Ukraine and Poland respectively as they reached next week's Play-Off final to earn a spot in Germany. Sadly for Karl Hein, he was in goal for Estonia during Poland's 5-1 demolition job.
Elsewhere, Jorginho came off the bench for Italy as they beat Venezuela 2-1 in Florida. After the match, he paid tribute to his time at Arsenal and the Premier League in general for shaping him into the player he is today.
