Pochettino was typically cool about the win, though, and knows not to get too carried away when his side are victorious, just as he does not when his team lose. The Argentine's ongoing search for consistency was a big talking point in his pre-match press conference on Friday and that simply has to start later on this evening at Selhurst Park.

It was somewhat of a new-look Chelsea defence in the win against Aston Villa last week. Thiago Silva was given a bit of a rest, although he did come on later in the game, as the 39-year-old started from the bench.
In stepped Benoit Badiashile to partner Axel Disasi and it seemed to really work for the Blues. However, Badiashile limped off late in the game and is set to miss the trip to south London this evening with a slight groin problem.
