Chelsea's busy schedule carries on this weekend and Mauricio Pochettino's hectic media duties also continued on Friday afternoon. The Blues' head-coach fielded questions ahead of Chelsea's trip to Brentford at the weekend.
Pochettino's side will take to the field for the second time in less than 72 hours on Saturday afternoon against the Bees. Chelsea will be hoping to end their barren run against their west London rivals but the Blues will need to be at their best to get a result at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Chelsea's last two Premier League matches have ended in a win against Crystal Palace and an impressive draw away at champions Manchester City. The Blues, who were much-changed for their win against Leeds United earlier in the week, face a tough challenge to keep their recent strong form in the league going.
Pochettino was asked about a number of topics in his pre-match press conference, including the fitness of Thiago Silva. You can read the full transcript from the Argentine below.
Thiago Silva, how is he?
«We need to assess him and Marc Cucurella. Both maybe are undecided but maybe it is possible to be involved in the squad. Two good news. They will be possible in the squad.»
What is Nkunku's injury?
«I think he suffered a problem in his hamstring and we will see in a few weeks if he can be again available. But yes, now he is doing recovery from Sunday. A little bit unlucky, bad luck because to suffer again another setback, it's always tough for a player that didn't play too much during the season that also came from the Bundesliga, from Germany, with some problems.
»He was so good in the pre-season. It is a difficult season for him. It is difficult to accept another injury and to delay to play more consistent."
