The encounter wasn't shy of controversy as Blues striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was shown a red card for a challenge on Nathaniel Clyne. Calvert-Lewin appeared to win the ball, catching the former Liverpool defender in the process, but referee Chris Kavanagh ruled that the England international endangered the opponent and brandished a red card, following the intervention of VAR.
The replay at Goodison Park is set to take place on Wednesday, January 17.
