Erling Haaland handed Manchester City a major boost when he returned to training earlier this week.
Haaland, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, was on the sidelines due to a foot injury and handed featured for City since their 1-0 defeat away to Aston Villa on 6 December.
The Norway international has trained with the City squad ahead of their third-round FA Cup clash against Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
“Erling is a little better, his bone so we need to be careful, [he’s had] two or three sessions and feels good,” Pep Guardiola said in his press conference on Friday.
“Hopefully [they will be able to play soon but], I don’t know for Sunday or for Newcastle, but for the rest they will be ready.”
It now remains to be seen if Guardiola will play his first-choice No 9 in the FA Cup this weekend or whether he will keep him for Newcastle in the Premier League the following weekend.
