Manchester United’s comeback win against Aston Villa will have impressed Sir Dave Brailsford who was in attendance at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils turned around a 2-0 deficit to beat Villa 3-2 on Boxing Day with a key part of their new minority ownership watching on.
Brailsford was pictured in the stands looking rather glum at half-time after Erik ten Hag’s side were booed off but he will have been delighted after 90 minutes.

Brailsford is the Director of Sport at INEOS, the company owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe who has now invested in Manchester United.
He was considered the brains behind British Cycling’s success, developing Team Sky and Team GB over the last 10 years.
The 59-year-old first made his name by taking Team GB from two gold medals in cycling in 2004 to eight golds in 2008 and 2012.
He then led Team Sky’s success as team principal before they changed their names to Team INEOS Grenadiers four years ago.
That was when Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over the team and Brailsford has worked closely with him since.
He was then appointed as the Director of Sports for INEOS and that took his focus away from cycling and onto other business ventures.
Brailsford has been working in football since then, playing a big role at FC Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland and at Nice in France.
He is now well renowned in the football world with other sporting directors voicing their high praise for him.
