The Gunners have agreed a deal with Brentford to sign the Spanish stopper, but the move is still yet to be officially confirmed
There are no concerns over Arsenal's move for David Raya despite a delay in the official confirmation of the transfer.
There had been an initial hope that the deal could be confirmed in time to have the 27-year-old in the Arsenal matchday squad for their Premier League opener with Nottingham Forest on Saturday. However, the intricacies of a loan with an option to buy contract are holding up the official confirmation of the deal football.london understands.
Arsenal are still confident that the deal should be announced relatively soon, however. Raya was in attendance for their 2-1 victory over Forest on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium and should be part of the squad in time for their clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park next Monday.
The deal will see Arsenal considerably strengthen their goalkeeping position after Matt Turner left to join Forest last week. Raya is set to compete for the No.1 shirt with Aaron Ramsdale in a deal that Mikel Arteta admitted gives his side more options as they seek to challenge for the both the Premier League and Champions League this season.
