Arsenal legend Ian Wright says Mikel Arteta's side still have more they need to learn following their Champions League elimination.
The Gunners surrendered the top spot in the Premier League after a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa meant Manchester City remained above them in the table, despite having plenty of chances to score.
Then on Wednesday, Joshua Kimmich scored a second-half header to send Bayern Munich through to the Champions League semi-finals at the Gunners' expense.
Wright believes fatigue may be an issue, highlighting Ben White's part in the Bayern winner on Wednesday night as an example.
Speaking on the Wrighty's House podcast, the former Arsenal striker explained: 'I know he must be absolutely knackered, gone.
'For him to be going across to close down a guy with that much time, just in and around the box to cross it into a very dangerous area, where another load of our players were on their heels, it's what we've got to learn.
'That's why I will have patience with this team because they still have to learn those things. Then you do need, I don't care what anyone says, someone with X-factor, someone with a Kevin De Bruyne vibe, they make something happen.'
Arsenal have identified three priority positions to strengthen as Arteta plans changes to his squad with the aim of breaking into Europe’s elite.
The Gunners are planning to revamp their team ahead of next season as they look to crack the big time.
It is no secret that Arsenal want a new striker this summer, but intriguingly they have also placed a new left-back and midfielder on their summer checklist.
Arsenal will release significant funds this summer, with their spending on incomings to be supplemented by a number of exits.
