Premier League icon Alan Shearer believes Liverpool can't have too many complaints following their Crystal Palace defeat - despite the result being "devastating" for their title hopes.
The Reds toiled and frequently threatened Dean Henderson's goal but were undone by Eberechi Eze's first-half strike in the 1-0 disappointment. Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones were left frustrated by Oliver Glasner's side.
Manchester City's 5-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday saw them open up a two-point gap at the top of the Premier League. Both Liverpool and Arsenal were looking to keep up the pace with Pep Guardiola's men but suffered respective defeats, with the Gunners losing 2-0 at home to Aston Villa.

Writing in his BBC column, Shearer suggests that the pressure is getting to the title-chasers. The former Newcastle United striker said: "As we saw at Anfield and Emirates Stadium on Sunday, pressure does funny things at this stage of the season - even to the best players and teams.
"No-one expected Liverpool and Arsenal to end up both being beaten this weekend, but I've been in their situation myself and this is what happens in a title run-in, especially in must-win games at home. If you don't score early, everyone gets very nervy.
"So, I know it will have felt exactly the same for the Gunners, who were desperate to make the breakthrough against Aston Villa, as it did for Jurgen Klopp's side when they were left chasing their game after Crystal Palace went ahead."
