Aldi shoppers have been left split over a non-traditional Easter found on shelves. Celebrating the season, the budget supermarket is offering customers a selection of hot cross bun products, with some using a variety of flavours you won't find in a traditional bun.
Taking to the Food Finds UK Official Facebook group, shopper Emily Scott showed off a new find while shopping at the budget supermarket. Among the array of Easter-related goodies, the shopper found a packet of Village Bakery Jaffa Flavoured Hot Cross Buns.
Available in Aldi stores for a limited time only, the pack of six Village Bakery Jaffa Flavoured Hot Cross Buns is priced at £1.39. Emily’s post gained a lot of traction, racking up over 1,500 reactions, 1,100 comments and 463 shares.

However, not everyone shared her enthusiasm for the uniquely flavoured hot cross buns. Louise Middleton commented: “They are c*** and don’t taste anything like Jaffa I had some last year.”
Emily Henley agreed, “I've been really disappointed with the Aldi hot cross buns I've tried so far this year - the caramelised biscuit, Nutoka and banoffee ones were all a bit meh,” while Audrey Dowse said, “To me all these fancy so called hot cross buns are NOT traditional buns the old fashioned ones are the real ones.”
Mark Morris said: “Taste nothing like jaffa cake just like the other things they have saying jaffa cake don't taste nothing like them haha.”
But not everyone agreed, some Aldi shoppers enjoyed the unconventional flavour. Christine Hunter said: “I got them lovely.”
