Jurgen Klopp has the 'eye of the tiger' as Liverpool chase a fairytale farewell for the German boss, Mail Sport's Dominic King has told It's All Kicking Off.
The Reds have been relentless since Klopp announced he would be leaving at the end of the campaign.
They have already claimed the Carabao Cup and may yet win the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League to send their popular boss off in style.
King, who reported extensively on Klopp's era at Anfield, told the podcast there's something about his demeanour at the moment which doesn't bode well for their rivals.
He told a story from when Liverpool were chasing multiple trophies in 2022 when Klopp bumped into Anfield legend Steven Gerrard outside his local pub in Formby days before the Champions League final.
That season, Klopp's side had already won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup but just missed out on the Premier League title by a point to Manchester City.
They would lose 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris a few days later.
'I was with Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday at a pre-match press conference and he's just got the sort of... I would say he's got the eye of the tiger at the minute,' King told It's All Kicking Off.
'He looks similar to two years ago. I'll never forget two years ago when they were going for the quadruple.
'And the faith that he had in the team was such that one night he took his dog for a walk around for him to be where he lives.
'There's a very nice pub there called Freshfield. Steven Gerrard was in there that night, it was a lovely evening.
'Stevie was in having a quick shandy, as you do before the kids go to bed. Next thing, Jurgen walks past and he's got his dog with him. And they see each other, hug each other, and Jurgen sits down
