Ligue 2 side SC Amiens are set to sign Reading forward Andy Carroll (34), according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.
Former England international Carroll, who is under contract with League One side Reading until the end of the current season, is set to move to France. According to Aouna, the striker’s transfer to Amiens is set to be completed. The player himself has already flown to Picardi in order to undergo a medical ahead of completing the transfer. Only the final details need to be smoothed over before Carroll is an Amiens player.
Carroll featured in Reading’s first two games in League One but hasn’t featured since. During his time at the club, the former Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United striker has scored 11 goals in 42 games. However, his time in England now looks to be coming to an end. He will join an Amiens side that currently sit second in Ligue 2 with three wins in their first four matches of the season.
