Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Pedro Porro has trained this week ahead of Sunday's Premier League encounter against Aston Villa. Such a pivotal game in the top-four race, Villa currently hold a five-point lead over Spurs going into the showdown at Villa Park.
Porro has been absent in Tottenham's last two games due to a strain picked up in training. The Spaniard has been a big miss in his right-back role, with Emerson Royal taking on his duties in his absence.
As well as missing Porro recently, Richarlison played no part in last weekend's win over Crystal Palace after injuring his knee in the defeat against Wolves. Postecoglou announced one week ago that the Brazilian looks set for a spell on the sidelines of three to four weeks, although the attacker then revealed to ESPN Brasil last Saturday that he could be in contention to face Aston Villa as he was due to return to the training pitch at Hotspur Way at the beginning of the week.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Aston Villa match, Postecoglou said: «Everyone from last week is fit and available. Coming back. Pedro's good, he's trained all week so no problem. Everyone else, including Richy, is still not training with the main group so unavailable.»
Going into Sunday's game in the Midlands, Brennan Johnson has made his case for a starting spot after a very bright cameo in the win over Crystal Palace. That in turn leaves the Spurs boss with something to think about going into the match.
