Ange Postecoglou admits that he is not relaxed about the Harry Kane situation and that it is not good for Tottenham or the England captain for the situation to drag on much longer.
The Spurs striker has been the subject of plenty of noise coming from Bayern Munich about their desire to sign him and their claims that he wants to move to the Bundesliga. The German side submitted a £68million bid for Kane plus add-ons this month with Tottenham expected to want far more if they are to lose their talisman.
Kane has 12 months left on his deal and football.london understands that he will not push for a move but remains open to all eventualities, whether that is moving on if a bid is accepted, seeing out the final year of his contract or potentially signing a new deal later this year if the club make strides under Postecoglou.
Spurs have offered the striker the opportunity to sit down and discuss a huge new deal but Kane is understood to want to see how this summer transfer window pans out first for both him and the club.
When Postecoglou was asked whether he was relaxed about the situation, he shook his head with a rueful smile.
«Fair to say I am not relaxed about it! It’s not something you go: ‘Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn’t happen!’ I mean it’s a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club,» he said.
