Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou remains a vocal critic of VAR and believes there’s no technology that will make football “errorless” despite his side being the beneficiaries of two controversial calls.
Liverpool went down to 10 men when Curtis Jones was sent off in the 26th minute after referee Simon Hooper consulted the pitchside monitor after initially brandishing a yellow card.

VAR again became the subject of scrutiny when Luis Diaz latched onto a Mohamed Salah pass and scored but was flagged for off-side.
However, replays showed Diaz was onside yet VAR failed to intervene and overturn the decision, forcing the PGMOL to issue a statement after the game that the goal should have stood.
Postecoglou, who has “never really been a fan” of VAR since its introduction, felt the technology has made people believe there’s no room for error despite the fact human mistakes will continue to happen.
“The biggest problem I think that we have is that we seem to fail to grasp is that no form of technology is going to make the game errorless,” Postecoglou said in his post-match press conference.
