Liverpool drew 2-2 at Brighton in an entertaining encounter at the AMEX.
Mohamed Salah scored twice in the first half as the Reds had to come from a goal down after a mix up between Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson allowed Simon Adingra to score. Lewis Dunk equalised in the second half after Ryan Gravenberch had earlier hit the bar before Joao Pedro missed a big opportunity to score the winner.

Can versatility be a curse rather than a blessing? It’s a question worth asking given the curious campaign of Harvey Elliott, the 20-year-old largely used, in the Premier League at least, as an effective impact substitute.
Elliott, who had started on the left wing when scoring in the FA Cup defeat at Brighton last February, is still seeking his most profitable position, even if he has been preferred of late on the right of the midfield three.
And it was from there he made his first top-flight start since April here, although it was telling his best contribution came when not touching the ball in leaving Darwin Nunez’s pass for Mohamed Salah to equalise.
Elliott, like much of the Liverpool team first half, struggled to make an impact. And while his half-time removal was surprising in its haste – there were several contenders – it allowed Dominik Szoboszlai to switch from right to left and gave substitute Ryan Gravenberch a chance to build on his midweek showing in the Europa League.
