Lionel Messi and his family are back in his home of Rosario to kick off the Christmas festivities. As usual for Argentina, the arrival of the captain of the world champion team has been long- awaited for both fans and the press.
It will be a Christmas full of exciting moments for La Pulga, although the player had to slightly delay the trip while waiting for the end of the school year for his children in the United States.
The Argentine number 10 arrived around 11:06am local time at Fisherton International Airport in the city of Santa Fe, aboard his large private plane, which brought him from Florida.
Among the events he's booked in for, he plans to attend the wedding of Carla Roccuzzo, Antonela's younger sister, first. She was one of Antonela and Messi's bridesmaids when they also got married in Rosario on June 30, 2017.
On the sporting side a meeting with Albiceleste coach, Lionel Scaloni, is also expected. The captain of the national team will have a talk with the coach who is reported to be walking away from the role just before the anniversary of theirFIFA World Cup win.
The start of the new season with Inter Miami in the MLS is close and the Argentine star wants to improve on the results of last season.
He will tackle the preseason and warned rivals that he will start that stage of preparation in the best way. The goal is to win the title in Major League Soccer (MLS), something he could not achieve this year since when he arrived at Inter Miami the team was at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
