David Raya: One superb first half save from an effort from Julio Enciso that would have given Brighton an undeserved equaliser. Good play from the back aside from that. 7.
Ben White: Largely kept Enciso quite to ensure that Arsenal were defensively secure. Got forward really well down the right also. Let himself down by going down after the merest of touches from Estupinan, though. 7.
William Saliba: Some moments of real quality using close control to get out of tight spaces. Defensively pretty switched on throughout as well. 8.
Gabriel: Looked to have injured himself in the first half, but played well throughout despite that. Might have scored in the early stages with a header which flashed wide, but more than made up for it with another solid defensive display afterwards. 8.
Oleksandr Zinchenko: Good on the ball to allow Arsenal to play around Brighton's high press. Some typical lapses in concentration, though, which could have given the Seagulls a route back into the game. 6.

Jorginho: Got forward like a right winger to grab the assist for Kai Havertz's goal. Some slid play at the base of the midfield aside from that. 8.
Martin Odegaard: Another leading display from the Arsenal captain. Where he goes on the pitch the Arsenal attack follows. Superb ball in behind to Jorginho to create the second and could have had a goal himself on another day. 9.
Declan Rice: Arsenal fans were singing 'we got him half price' at the Amex. With another impressive display in midfield it's hard to disagree. 8.
Bukayo Saka: Could have had more than one goal on the day.
