Strap yourselves in; the Premier League title race is only just beginning. With 13 games left for Arsenal and Liverpool, there are just two points separating the top two. Manchester City, with a game in hand, have the chance to go top by a slither.
Given just how strong Pep Guardiola's men are and how much they dominate this exact part of the season on a yearly basis, it may well just be more fair to make them play 37 games anyway. Give the other teams a chance, say.
However, both Arsenal and Liverpool are putting up yet another big fight. The Gunners have come back from the winter break, channelling the Arsenal from August to December 2022. It's a credit to Mikel Arteta that he has seen his side do this while also remaining impenetrable at the back.
It's a defence that wins titles, people often say, but hammering in 21 goals across five games has never hurt anyone. It's telling that despite the criticism of Arteta for pawning over too much control and becoming Set Piece FC, Arsenal have now scored more after 25 games this year than they did last term.
That doesn't necessarily shift things in their favour, though.Jurgen Klopp is Liverpool's best asset; he has been here, had the scrap, and come out on both sides in a title race. Guardiola, well, he lives for this, and Arteta still has a point to prove.
What makes all of this so much better are the fine margins. With just 13 games left, City have to face both of their rivals.
