AS Roma have enquired about PSG midfielder and Portugal international Renato Sanches (25), according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Le Parisien. The 25-year-old midfielder joined Les Parisiens from Lille OSC one year ago on an €18m deal. The Euro 2016 breakout player signed a five-year deal with PSG. Unfortunately, his first season in the French capital was hampered by frequent injuries. He only played in 27 games in all competitions this past campaign. Given that PSG have sanctioned the €60m signing of defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte, Sanches may play an even more peripheral role next season.
The French outlet understand that Sanches is questioning his future in the French capital. The Ligue 1 champions are also pondering whether or not to retain the former Bayern Munich player. PSG would be ready to part ways with Sanches should an interesting offer come forward. According to Di Marzio, Europa League runners-up AS Roma are entertaining the prospect of a season-long loan deal for Sanches. Giallorossi coach and fellow countryman José Mourinho is reportedly driving the Serie A club’s chase for Sanches.
