Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher jokingly fired a warning to a fellow pundit on Tuesday night.
The former Reds defender has enjoyed a busy start to the week. Fresh from analysing Liverpool’s draw with Manchester City at the weekend, Carragher was part of the Monday Night Football team assessing Fulham’s dramatic win over Wolves..
His commitments to Sky Sports saw him miss the start of CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage on Tuesday, though. Usually stationed in a London studio, the punditry team were joined by a live studio audience as part of their Destination Miami show.

Carragher’s work for the US broadcaster - alongside the usual line-up of Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and presenter Kate Abdo - has often gone viral across social media. The time constraints meant that former Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey initially stood in for Carragher. But the ex-Liverpool centre-back had a message for his replacement.
During their live show, the CBS Sports team cut to a short clip from Carragher, while he was seemingly still in the air: “I'm on my way, Clint. You're going back on the bench, boy,” he joked.
Dempsey, who was once targeted by then-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, played up the pair’s supposed rivalry: “Damn, that's messed up. Cut me deep.”
The narrative continued when Carragher arrived during half-time and announced: “The show starts now. This is the real show.” Dempsey responded by offering the Reds hero his seat before jokingly storming off set.
