According to La Provence , Bamo Meïté (22) could be out until the end of the season after picking up an injury during Olympique de Marseille’s training session on Friday morning.
The defender who arrived from FC Lorient last summer became injured after he tackled Luis Henrique (22) during the club’s training session. The winger fell on him during the challenge which left Meïté with a double ankle sprain as well as a knee problem (although it is currently thought that there was no tear).
This will likely mean that Meïté will not feature again for Les Phocéens adding to an already lengthy list of players that will likely not be available until next season: Valentin Rongier, Samuel Gigot, Amir Murillo, and Bilal Nadir.
The loss of Meïté will be a particular problem for manager Jean-Louis Gasset as it leaves him with a crisis in defence, as only two uninjured senior central defenders are remaining within the squad, while the team are still competing in two competitions.
