Bayern and Spurs meet for Harry Kane -- is a transfer imminent?

Summer 2023 might be the one that sees Harry Kane leave Tottenham Hotspur after years of record-brekaing service.
Spurs' failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, combined with the interest of serial German champions Bayern Munich, equal conditions that could see Kane — Tottenham's all-time top scorer — depart in the coming weeks.
However, Spurs will not make it easy for the 29-year-old to leave. They have already turned down offers from Bayern, and representatives from the Bundesliga side met with chairman Daniel Levy on Thursday to discuss a deal further.
Despite previous links to Real Madrid, Kane is reportedly only considering a move to 11-time defending German champions Bayern. But as with previous transfer windows, Spurs are poised to play hardball over the superstar forward deep into the summer — even though the player has already reached a contract agreement with Bayern.
Tottenham have rejected two offers from Bayern in recent weeks, including one worth nearly $90 million total. Kane has one year left on his contract and wants to be respectful of Spurs — so if he can't get his transfer this summer, he may head for Germany as a free agent in 2024.
In the meantime, as no transfer has been agreed, Kane is set to join his Spurs teammates for the start of preseason.
Tottenham meet London rivals West Ham in Perth, Australia on July 18 before a matchup with Leicester City at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Spurs then travel to Singapore for a friendly against Lion City Sailors before ending preseason with games against Shakhtar Donetsk (in London) and FC Barcelona (in Catalonia).
