Liga Portugal outfit Benfica are reportedly targeting a transfer swoop for Manchester United loanee Alvaro Fernandez.
Having been sent to Championship side Preston North End on loan last season, Fernandez is now plying his trade at Spanish outfit Granada. The 20-year-old is starting to contribute regularly for the La Liga club and according to Record, this has caught the eye of the Portuguese giants.
It is claimed Benfica are willing to sign Fernandez on a permanent basis this month and have spoken to Granada and United about their intentions. They are expected to submit an offer of €7m for the youngster's services.

Elsewhere, United are reportedly eyeing themselves a 'bargain' in their pursuit of Stuttgart talisman Serhou Guirassy.
It is no secret how poorly United have been performing in front of goal this campaign. With just 22 goals in their scored tally in the top flight, a centre-forward is on the wishlist for supporters.
According to journalist Dharmesh Sheth in an article for Give Me Sport, United could secure themselves a bargain if they went after Guirassy. The 27-year-old Guinea international has been in sensational form this season in Germany and has 19 goals in 16 appearances for the club.
His goalscoring feats this year have come out of the blue following a modest career to this point. But, it is understood the striker's efforts have caught the eye of United.
