Benjamin Pavard (27) could be absent for up to two months after suffering a ligament distortion during Inter Milan’s victory over Atalanta (2-1) last weekend, according to L’Équipe.
France international Pavard, who made the move from Bayern Munich to Inter Milan in the summer, underwent tests on the injury to his left knee on Monday. The Serie A club have announced that Pavard will be out for between three to four months after suffering a ligament distortion, however, according to L’Équipe, his absence will be more lengthy. The French publication has announced that he is likely to be absent for between six to eight weeks.
As a result, Pavard will be absent for the upcoming international break, during which France will face Gibraltar (18th November) and Greece (21st November). The injury will be all the more frustrating given that Pavard finally got his chance to play at centre-back during the last international break. His absence will allow alternatives to stake their claims ahead of Euro 2024.
