Brentford defender Nathan Collins backs next manager call as Manchester United legend impresses
Brentford defender Nathan Collins has said he trusts the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) to choose the right person to be the new manager of the Republic of Ireland team.
Stephen Kenny was the boss of the Republic of Ireland team until last November. Since then, the FAI has been looking for a new manager and they will tell us who it is next month.
John O'Shea used to play for Ireland and now he's in charge for the friendly games against Belgium and Switzerland. Who'll be in charge of the team after those games is anyone's guess, with Lee Carsley, who coaches the England Under-21s, saying he doesn't want it.
When reporters asked Collins about this, he said: «I trust them. You have to trust them. If I didn't, then I wouldn't be here. It's up to them and I trust who they put in front of us. At the end of the day, they'll do what's right for us.»
Collins praised O'Shea, saying: «I can't speak highly enough of him, from what he did with the under-21s, even with Stephen Kenny. He's been class with us, he's helped me a lot. It's an enjoyable experience working with him.
