Carlo Ancelotti six-player claim offers fresh hope to Arsenal over Kylian Mbappe transfer
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that Arsenal and other top Premier League clubs might still have a chance to sign Kylian Mbappe.
The World Cup-winning Frenchman's contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends this season, making him a hot target for many European clubs. Despite rumours that Madrid has already convinced Mbappe to join them in the Spanish capital, Ancelotti doesn't seem so sure.
He was quoted by the Mirror as saying: «You keep asking about a player who plays for another team. We already have the best players in the world here. In order: Vini Jr first, [Jude] Bellingham second, Rodrygo third. Then [Toni] Kroos, [Federico] Valverde, [Eduardo] Camavinga...»
Ancelotti's comments coincide with reports suggesting that Los Blancos are finding it difficult to agree on a financial package with Mbappe's agent and mother, Fayza Lamari. It's claimed that they are «far apart» on agreeing a deal, with Mbappe reportedly demanding £60m per season to play for the Spanish giants.
If the deal falls through, it could pave the way for other top European clubs like Arsenal to swoop in for Mbappe. Despite this, Real Madrid, with their history of securing big names, remain the favourites to sign him. The 25-year-old almost moved to the Bernabeu in 2022 but ended up renewing his contract with PSG.
After a resounding 4-0 victory over Girona, Madrid now leads La Liga by five points. England midfielder Bellingham scored twice, with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo also finding the back of the net. PSG are currently 11 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, but after seven seasons in the French capital (including one on loan from Monaco) Mbappe looks set to embrace a new challenge.
