Chelsea confirmed team vs Newcastle as Cucurella and Sterling start, Gallagher decision made

Mauricio Pochettino has made two changes to the Chelsea team for this evening's Premier League match against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.

Marc Cucurella comes in for Ben Chilwell, while Raheem Sterling replaces Levi Colwill. Conor Gallagher has recovered from his virus that restricted the amount he could train last week and starts tonight.

Two academy stars, in the shape of Josh-Kofi Acheampong and Tyrique George, have been named in the squad. Pochettino hinted last week that due to Chelsea's injury situation that some younger players could be in the squad this evening.

Newcastle, meanwhile, make two changes from the side that beat Wolves last weekend. Tino Livramento, formerly of the Blues, comes in for Kieran Trippier, while Miguel Almiron replaces Jacob Murphy.

Last time out for Chelsea, away from home at Brentford, the post-match headlines were dominated by away supporters chanting about their discontent with the state the club is in at the moment. Pochettino, though, completely understands the fans' frustration from the stands.
