Chelsea could secure £90m transfer windfall in Euro 2024 as FFP questions remain

This summer's European Championships could be a pivotal time for Chelsea and the club's transfer business.

In what is expected to be a very busy summer on the transfer front for the Blues, there will have to be a number of outgoings from Stamford Bridge in order to facilitate those coming through the door. Premier League clubs seemed somewhat fearful of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) in January, with every side taking a more cautious approach to how they conducted their business.

It remains a mystery over what we see in the summer. But with a longer period to complete business, it is likely we see a much busier window. And for Chelsea, some supporters are counting down the days.

One slight complication, though, is the fact the Euros are on this summer. A lot of players involved in the major international competition are likely to focus their attention on the tournament itself rather than where their future lies.

While Chelsea will have scouts in Germany to watch the action and identify any potential signings, they will be hoping some of their players can impress to put themselves in the 'shop window'. There are a few players the club are open to selling this summer and the Euros could help raise their value.

Marc Cucurella is one of them. Signed by Chelsea for £60million in the summer of 2022, the Spaniard's value is less than half of that, as per Transfermarkt, at £21.4m. Cucurella, unfortunately, has not been able to live up to expectations after making the big-money move from Brighton less than two years ago.
