Rafael Leao was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea when Thomas Tuchel was in charge, and it remains to be seen whether Mauricio Pochettino will reignite the club's interest
Following negotiations which spanned across the entire season, Leao finally penned a five-year extension. The Portugal international featured 48 times for Stefano Pioli's side last term, directly contributing towards 31 goals.
While the 22-year-old winger is yet to score his first goal for the club, he only ever completed 90 minutes in the Premier League once. Starting just seven games and being brought off the bench in eight, the Ukraine international was denied the chance to build any momentum.
His decision to do so certainly paid off, picking up three assists against France and Spain in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively. Now, under the stewardship of Pochettino, Mudryk will be hoping the Argentine can help him take his game to the next level.
Only Anthony Gordon, Darwin Nunes, Erling Haaland and Denis Zakaria managed to even come close to matching his top speed in the English top-flight. Unsurprisingly, Mudryk was also one of the fastest players in the Champions League last season too.
The Ukrainian recorded a top speed of 36.6 km/h, with only Alphonso Davies managing to clock a fast time (37.1 km/h). Mudryk shared second place with Ousmane Dembele, while Rafael Leao came in at fourth (36.5 km/h).
Maybe Chelsea were right to sign the former Shakhtar Donetsk star all along...
