Carney Chukwuemeka could be set to return for Chelsea in the near future after it was confirmed by the club he's back in full training ahead of their clash against Fulham.
The 19-year-old went down with a knee injury in the side's 3-1 loss to West Ham in August, having scored the equaliser just a few minutes earlier. Since then, he's been recovering and is now back with the senior squad at Cobham.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino also highlighted Noni Madueke as a star who could return to the team on Monday night. He's been out with a knock that he picked up on international duty and wasn't present in the Brighton game in midweek.
«I think maybe Carney [will be available], and of course Noni [Madueke] also. After his issue [he had] when he came back from the national team, he's getting ready and working hard. I hope these two players are available for selection on Monday.»
Elsewhere, Ben Chilwell is still 'undergoing assessment' following Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against Brighton. The vice-captain was subbed off late on after an injury scare saw him require the physio's attention but was able to walk off and around the pitch without help.
«It was bad that it was in the last minute of the game, and of course, we are really sad about the news around Ben. Time, it's difficult to know now because it was less than two days since it happened.
»We need to assess him over the next few days, and for sure the club will communicate."
