Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that his project with Chelsea will be two years long after the club made its worst top-flight start in 45 years.
The Chelsea manager shed some light on when fans can expect to see results from their new young experiment ahead of their West London derby with Fulham tonight.
Asked by an interviewer how long he feels the project is as his contract is only for two years, the former Tottenham and Southampton manager laughed before replying: 'Two years?'
He then explained how the most important thing for him and Chelsea at the moment is to be 'in the right project'.
'I think I understand because the owners and sporting director they explain - it is about [knowing] people and if they are happy with us and we are happy with them,' he told Sky Sports.
'We are working. It is not a problem to have two years or five years or a ten year contract - the most important [thing] is to be in the right project and for them to have identified us as the right people to drive this ship.'
Last Friday, Pochettino revealed he wants to be 'more involved' in Chelsea's transfer strategy as the Blues are still yet to find form.
The club spent more than £400million on players - including a British record £115million on Moises Caicedo.
The London side - who currently sit 15th in the league table - finally broke their goal drought against Brighton on Wednesday in the EFL Cup.
