Mauricio Pochettino faced the media ahead of Chelsea's all-important Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening. The Blues head coach spoke about a number of topics at Cobham ahead of the match that could go a long way in determining his debut season with the club.
Fresh off the back of beating Preston North End on Saturday to progress into the fourth round of the FA Cup, the games keep coming for Chelsea. Another Championship opposition awaits, but this one threatens to be more difficult with Chelsea travelling to the Riverside Stadium for the first-leg, before welcoming Boro back to Stamford Bridge in a fortnight.
Pochettino was – as always – asked about a variety of topics, including transfers, injuries and so on, in his press conference. football.london has rounded up the best bits from what the Argentine had to say in the latest edition of press conference notes from Cobham.
Chelsea will have the same squad on Tuesday evening than what we saw against Preston at the weekend. Pochettino also confirmed Christopher Nkunku has not suffered a setback on his knee injury, instead this time it is his hip he has hurt.
«We are going to have the same squad for tomorrow, for the semi-final. No, nothing new,» he said.
Pochettino continued on Nkunku: «No, it's not related to his previous injury. It's a different problem. It's an issue in his hip, it's not in his knee. Now we have to be cautious about him because six months [he was out] with his injury.
