Defender Jack Scott departed Linfield just five months after returning to Windsor Park
Coleraine manager Oran Kearney believes Jack Scott will be able to “find his feet again” after joining the Bannsiders following his surprise release from Linfield earlier in the season.
The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the Showgrounds as the club try to work their way out of a run of four straight defeats.
Scott was released by Linfield just nine weeks ago by “mutual consent”, along with John Robertson, but he has found a new home with the Bannsiders in the long-term.
A former member of the Linfield Academy, Scott spent three years with Wolverhampton Wanderers and spent time on loan with St Patrick’s Athletic before returning to Linfield at the start of the season.
And Kearney says he is excited to work with the 21-year-old defender, who is their first arrival of the January transfer window.
“The best testament you can pay Jack is that the game he played against us he was really strong,” he said.
“He has really good physical qualities and more importantly, there’s a really good football pedigree also.
“We had an honest conversation about what we’re trying to do and why the move would be attractive for Jack.
“For us, it’s trying to make sure that he can kick on, find his feet in football again and kick his career on.
“On the pitch, we’re going to get a bundle of energy, a really good work ethic and honesty. He will integrate well off the pitch and the changing room needs that part of it as well.”
