Hugo Lloris arrives in Los Angeles! Ex-Tottenham keeper, 37, finally joins LAFC

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has landed in Los Angeles after signing with the 2022 MLS champions in December.

On Monday, the club posted a video of the Frenchman's arrival, in which he expressed his excitement towards playing in the United States.

Lloris, who will reportedly earn $350,000 with LAFC, appeared to be in jovial spirits as he had a black and gold LAFC scarf draping off his shoulder.

'Hi everyone, I just arrived, just landed to LA,' Lloris says in the clip. 'I'm looking forward to meet my new teammates, to discover my new environment and to meet the LAFC fans.'

Lloris joins a group of European stars who have represented LAFC. His former Tottenham teammate Gareth Bale helped the club win the MLS Cup in 2022 before retiring from the sport. Italian center back Giorgio Chiellini also spent his final years with LAFC before retiring in December.

Lloris joins LAFC after 11 and a half years and 361 appearances in Tottenham.

He made his final appearance for the club on April 23, 2023, getting subbed off at halftime in a 6-1 defeat to Newcastle. Two months later, Lloris was left out of the pre-season tour. Tottenham then released a statement saying Lloris was not included so he could 'explore prospective transfer opportunities.'

Outside his club career, Lloris is the most-capped French international, making 145 appearances for his national team. Lloris announced his retirement from international football after losing the 2022 World Cup final to Argentina.

Founded in 2018, LAFC quickly established itself as an MLS contender and destination some of the league's most talented players.
