Dylan Wilson admits Comber Rec will have to guard against complacency in their quest to make it a festive double at Seaview tomorrow.
The Premier Division side head into their Border Cup showdown against a classy Willowbank side still on a high after their comeback win over Crumlin Star in the Steel Cup final on Christmas Day.
But Wilson – whose goal got Comber back into the game one week ago, which they eventually won 3-2 in extra-time – reckons there’s an inherent danger here; a mentality thing whereby he and his team-mates might take their eye off the ball now that they’ve already bagged the big one, a Steel Cup winner’s medal.
"There’s always a chance of that, ‘Look, we’ve won one, sure this one doesn’t really matter as much,’” explained the Comber No. 7.

“But at the same time, we’re here and we’ve battled through that much to get here, we want to go on and win both.
"And to be fair, everyone in the team and everyone in the squad all have the exact same mindset.
"We know Willowbank are going to be a good team, but we’re going out to win this.”
In any event, Wilson is adamant they won’t be complacent about the opposition who play their football two divisions below Comber in 1B.
