UFC legend Michael Bisping has given his verdict on the chances of a fight between Paddy Pimblett and Conor McGregor.
‘The Baddy’ restored momentum by defeating iconic fighter Tony Ferguson by decision at UFC 296 in December. It was the 29-year-old’s fifth consecutive win in the UFC but the date for his next fight is currently unknown as he awaits the the arrival of twin girls.
McGregor, 35, announced on New Year’s Eve that he would be making his return against Michael Chandler in June, though this has since been disputed by UFC president Dana White. ‘Notorious’ has not fought since suffering a broken tibia in July 2021 but remains the most high-profile name in MMA and former UFC champion Michael Bisping was asked about the possibility of Pimblett facing McGregor in the future.

"Paddy Pimblett vs Conor McGregor would be a very, very big fight, but I don't think that would interest Conor McGregor at all because Paddy's the new kid on the block," he told Betway. “McGregor is the pay-per-view king, the biggest star the sport has ever seen and I don't think taking on someone like Paddy Pimblett does anything for Conor McGregor.
“It’s a massive opportunity for Paddy, I think it would do gigantic numbers, simply because anything Conor does, does big numbers.
"Nothing against Paddy but I just don't think Conor McGregor is sitting down with his management. I don't think that's the type of fight they're looking for and that would certainly have to be 155. I don't think Conor’s coming down to 155 anytime soon.”
