'Could have been zero' - Sean Dyche reveals Everton frustration over winless run and points deduction

Everton manager Sean Dyche admits he’s “amazed” that his side haven’t won any of their last 11 Premier League matches.

The Blues haven’t triumphed in the Premier League since they recorded a fourth straight success by defeating Burnley 2-0 on December 16 when Dyche returned to Turf Moor where he was previously in charge for almost a decade, for the first time. With the Merseyside Derby postponement followed by an international break, Everton have a three-week gap in fixtures following their 2-0 defeat at Manchester United until they travel to Bournemouth on March 30.

Dyche has chosen to fill the start of the fallow period with a training camp in Portugal this week and speaking from their warm weather base, he told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s frustrating for myself and I’m sure for all involved with Everton Football Club whether you’re players, staff, fans, everyone involved because – some people disagree but I think the performances have been generally good – I’m amazed we haven’t won in the last 11 games with the performances we’ve had.

“You think back to the Tottenham game away and I think it’s almost impossible. West Ham at home, Manchester United, I’ve never been with a team who dominated like that.

“We get nothing out of those game, there’s just three, there are other performances as well. There’s a lot of good in those performances, my assistant Woany has a saying: ‘There has to be a future in what you’re doing’ and there clearly is.

“The alternate side to that is having that bit of devil, that extra moment of truth when it comes in front of goal mainly and I think that’s the thing. It’s spreading your wings again.”
